best cornbread recipe

i am 15 years old, bake em for my family every now and then and they are gone in less than 24 hours bless your soul honey because i go to heaven every time i eat these 100/5 stars. I made these tonight with some roasted chicken and macaroni salad…..SOOO perfect!!! And, another twist, the rest of the liquid is orange juice! Oh, this recipe doubles beautifully! Finally a recipe for moist corn muffins! most recipes similiar to this just use 1 tsp. Thank you! They were great. Super easy to whip up with everything I had on hand.

Whisk in the honey, and then the milk. Absolutely, that would work well. Tonight I sifted the dry ingredients, added dried cherries and topped the muffin with course sparkling sugar before baking. Usually I have to put tons of butter on it, because it's so dry and just doesn't have much taste to it, but this recipe is very moist, and you can eat it alone, it's got a great sweet taste to it. Just made these with 1c Keffir yoghurt as well as I didn’t have any milk and it turned out great. Didn’t change a thing, they are perfect just the way they are. You’ll find a button on the top right of each recipe which allows you to toggle between cup and metric measures.

No doubt this would be good with regular flour. These were not dry at all or too crumbly. Thanks for the recipe! I did add a dab of sour cream and about a cup of corn. The bottoms were also not nicely browned. The batter was lumpy because of the cornmeal. Mine turned out a little dry though and I’m wondering how to correct that.

Hi Joanne, Sure, that would be delicious. I sprayed the tin with cooking spray and they came out effortlessly. I made it with your exact measurements and thought next time I would try making them with less sugar and butter (to make them “healthier” ) but after eating one I really wouldn’t want to alter the recipe because it is perfectly sweet and buttery!!!! Even hubby who’s not much of a cornbread fan; he said it was very moist and tender. I used a 9X13 glass baking dish, even went and bought Buttermilk. Jim. I used whole wheat pastry flour because I had it and thought it would produce a more tender crumb (less gluten), without fear of overmixing the batter. That is 40 min. This is my go-to recipe for corn muffins since the first time I made them. It came out perfect, baked for 20 min in a 6 muffin pan!!! This is the only recipe I use. Thank you! Cornbread has always been a favorite of my mine and I love to pair it with other soups and chili dishes from the blog. I will make these again! My muffins rose nicely too. My 5 year old and I love to bake together. Sometimes as muffins, and other times as a cornbread. If i wanted to make them more of a corn muffin to with coffee how much sugar do you suggest?? I have made these twice in the last month and both times they worked out perfectly.

Because there’s not a ton of honey in the recipe, I suspect the cornbread should taste essentially the same with regular honey.

Turned out yummy. I added shredded cheddar cheese to half of the batter for variety and it worked out well. You have rescued me! Served with a black bean soup with sour cream lime cilantro sauce and chopped tomatoes. It’s not the very best cornbread I’ve eaten but it’s an extremely close second. Followed the steps and all the ingredients as stated, never failed to make great muffins! No more Jiffy for me! Less cake like than a regular muffin, but not fall-apart like some corn muffins. Use three 3 1/4" x 5 3/4" x 2 1/4" mini loaf pans. Voila! What a great recipe! Wonderful recipe!
